Red Nose Day

On Red nose day Friday 24th March we are having a ‘Pay to perform’ event in the hall. We have arranged for the staging to be put up and the sound system will be set up alongside a laptop and projector so children that make a contribution of small change will be able to choose their favourite song and perform it for the rest of the class.

A mixed group of key stage 1 and 2 children represented our school at the annual dance festival at The Winding Wheel, Chesterfield. The children performed The Gummy Bears dance and looked great in their costumes. All of the practising really paid off as the children were fantastic!

Bridget Clarke, our Forest School Practioner, has been taking a group of key stage 1 and key stage 2 pupils over to the pine cone site where they have been planting willow and have recently started making willow structures. Also the forest school group will be completing Christmas activities and making Christmas structures.

Primary School were visited by Springy the mascot who is visiting all the schools in Derbyshire. He is helping each school to see what physical activities we all do with the children.

Primary department enjoyed a residential at Center Parcs in Sherwood forest 7th-11th November.

Stubbin Wood school and Nursery collected 16 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas child. These will be taken to a collection point and then sent around the world to children who are less fortunate than ourselves this year.
