Message from the Headteacher
I feel very privileged to be the Headteacher of Stubbin Wood School & Nursery, a school where you can be confident your child will be safe, happy, and have their individual needs met through our specialist teaching and interventions.
Our values are reflected in our mission statement: 'Creating opportunities for everyone to achieve success and reach their potential. Inclusion is the centre of our ethos and day to day working practices as "Creating opportunities for everyone to achieve success" cannot be achieved without it. It is therefore part of the role of every member of staff.

China School News 2

Hi all,

Here is an update on our China links, and it looks like we may be unfurling our Chinese flag earlier than we first thoughtJ

In June 2016 Mrs Short who is our Deputy Head teacher will be travelling to Yang Fan Special School in the Yangpu District of Shanghai. Here she will teach Chinese students about some aspects of British culture. Mrs Short will also be sharing with staff at Yang Fan some of the outstanding aspects of our curriculum. She will be sharing elements of our curriculum planning from all areas of school Nursery, Primary, Middle and 14 – 19 departments. During her stay Mrs Short will be introduced to the wonders of Shanghai and the Bund.  Exciting times…we can’t wait to hear her stories.

Not only do we have Mrs Short visiting China – we are extremely fortunate to be welcoming two teachers from our other twinned school Zhongshan Special Education School in Guangdong. The two teachers, Mrs Qin Weiwei and Mr Ma Tianyu will be with us from 2nd June until 3rd July. Both teachers will be staying with Stubbin Wood staff and experiencing both school life and British culture at home. We are very excited about this teacher exchange as it continues to forge and strengthen our links with our Chinese Special School. These links enhance the teaching and learning experiences within Stubbin Wood School, both staff and students are enriched by our exchanges.

We will keep you updated with both of these exciting links, look out for the photographs linked to these exciting developments!
